Eileen Burns
My big break! Me as Woman #2 in Sweet Charity

I am a vocalist specializing in jazz standards, swing and rhythm & blues. Influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, Keely Smith, Aretha Franklin, Judy Garland, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Peggy Lee and more. If you’re looking for a singer for your event, contact me at eburns4321@gmail.com and I can put together a duo, trio, quartet or whatever you require.

About Me
I got my start in 1997 when I saw a notice for open auditions for a musical at a tiny community theater in Mishawaka, Indiana. They taught us a song from the show to audition with, which I did rather badly. Nevertheless, I got cast in the chorus, and I was thrilled! (It turned out that everyone who auditioned got at least a role in the chorus, but I didn’t care). I had one line of dialogue and a little dance solo and I loved it.

Cast of the Midnight Martini Show

Since then I moved back to Northeast Ohio where I grew up, and I’ve gone on to perform professionally at venues throughout the Cleveland area. I was lucky enough to be cast in The Midnight Martini Show at Pickwick & Frolic in downtown Cleveland, a show which ran for almost 5 years, which as far as I know is the longest-running show in Cleveland history. During our run, we were featured in the New York Times, USA Today, and on Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels. I have also performed in numerous local theatrical productions on stages including Weathervane Playhouse, Cassidy Theater and Playhouse Square.

Recently I’ve been blessed to sing with great Cleveland jazz musicians like Joe Hunter, Mike Petrone, Ray Porrello, Demetrius Steinmetz and the Dukes of Wail at venues ranging from Fat Fish Blue to Nighttown. Four times per year, you can also hear me on the Mighty Wurlitzer Radio Hour on WCLV singing in an old-time radio format. From time to time I return to Pickwick to perform for special events. Check out the calendar to see where I’ll be next. I am also in the process of recording an album of original songs with composer Larry Kass, more information coming about that soon.
